I volunteered and supported an organization called “South Asian Autism Awareness Center” (SAAAC) that provides special education and skills for autistic kids. They conduct speech-language, art, music and dance programs by highly qualified instructors as a mean of therapies. Through the program they identify a kid’s special and unique talents and work with them to develop them such as, computer typing skills, painting skills, organized skills and many more. SAAAC has special training classes and finds jobs to employ some kids.

I am thrilled to gain more time on the ice and develop my teaching skills with the kids. Can’t wait for the future years of volunteering with Stouffville Skating Club!

Volunteering at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Public Library has helped me develop multiple skills that will definitely benefit me throughout my life. To name a few would include, leadership, speaking skills, teamwork, organization and responsibility. At the Stouffville Library, there are many volunteer opportunities where you get to experience a different environment like Coding, Reading Buddies and Science Week.
